Don't Put Your Health on the Back Burner: Take Care of Yourself

My dad had high blood pressure.

He was reluctant to see the doctor or take his medication consistently. My mom often spent time running behind him making sure he was doing the right thing and taking care of himself.

Why is that?

You bring so many great attributes to the table—loyal, reliable, generous, supportive, understanding, encouraging, protective, patient, adventurous...

So, why have you put yourself on the back burner? Is it the fear of what you have to face in the doctor’s office? The fear of the unknown? The fear that you should’ve gone in sooner?

Do yourself a favor—your family loves you. Pick up the phone, call your primary care doctor, and book all of your necessary exams. Not because you are probably wearing out your wife, but because you matter. Not for what you do, but for who you are.

You are loved.
