Take Time for You

When we say the word “self-care”, oftentimes women with their hair up in a towel with luxurious candles, and expensive spa treatments come to mind. Self-care isn’t just for women. We would argue that men may need it even more so than their spouse or significant other, based on the amount of pressure they experience in the world. Did you know that a man is more than 4x likely to take his own life? Yes, men are dying every day from suicide. We all need moments to take deep breaths, to breath in hope, peace, and love, and breath out anger, frustration and anxiety. We understand the importance of taking time, and it shouldn’t just happen on a weekend. Throughout the week, find opportunities to rejuvenate, love yourself, and nurture your soul. You will be all the better for it, and so will your family. Here are some ways you can practice self-care in your life and start today.

  • Journal your feelings

  • Ask for help if you need it

  • Spend quality time with family

  • Get a new hair cut/shave

  • Treat yourself to a manicure/pedicure

  • Exercise/Go for a walk

  • Get a massage

  • Try yoga or meditation in the morning

  • Plan a vacation for yourself and/or with the fellas

  • Get enough sleep each night

  • Read a new book for pleasure
