Your daughter will watch your every move so you should stay consistent. The same way you show up around your co-workers should be the same way you show up around her. They shouldn’t see a parent who changes depending on the people they are around. Consistency is important.

If you want your daughter to respect you, how do you model that behavior when dealing with your own parents? Are you respectful whether they deserve it or not? Take a moment to think that through.

What are the words that come out of your mouth? Words matter. They can inspire or they can hurt. You must train and tame the words that are coming out of our mouths towards your wives, daughters, friends, and even enemies. Does her vocabulary match yours?

What do you watch on television? What do you listen to when you are in the car? How do you treat your girlfriend/spouse?

Your daughter is watching and listening to the behavior you are modeling. Be her role model.
